Meet HANS

I am deeply passionate about representing district 25 as it has been my beloved home for more than 50 years. The experience of serving the vibrant communities within District 25 over the past term has been truly exceptional and humbling. I have had the privilege of engaging with members from various communities through my active participation in events, social gatherings, parades, and numerous other occasions. My connection to Ottumwa runs deep, as my parents immigrated from Germany in the 1950s, choosing to make Ottumwa their home where they established our family businesses. This city holds a special place in my heart, not only for my family but also for the contributions of our family businesses. With nearly 30 years of marriage to my wonderful wife, who hails from Minnesota, and the support of my two sons, Andreas and Marcus, I am inspired to continue my service to the community. I have always found fulfillment in contributing to our community, whether through volunteering at events or actively participating in various committees. These experiences have been both humbling and educational, shaping my commitment to public service. My extensive business ventures have taken me across the globe, providing me with invaluable perspectives. Throughout my journey, I have come to understand the importance of input in achieving quality output. With over three decades dedicated to building businesses for myself and others, I have honed my ability to listen, problem-solve, and find effective solutions. It is with a deep sense of responsibility and enthusiasm that I seek to bring these skills to the forefront as I aspire to serve in the house and continue contributing to the betterment of our community.
